2008 Appreciation Banquet

Midway Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 held there annual Appreciation Banquet on January 10,2009 at their Fire Hall. The meal was catered by Bay City Restaurant. The music was by Bill Cappetta. The Master of Ceremonies for the Banquet was Bruce Yealy. Bruce told several funny jokes and stories between presenters.

The Banquet started off with the Swearing of the new officers of the company by District Justice Bowman. Then a moment of silences was observed.

The President of the company Christian Riley made a speech to the people who attended the Banquet.

The Chief of the company Robert Warner made a moving speech to the attendees about the year 2008. The company will move forward with its operations. Chief Warner presented some awards to members.

The Uniform Committee Chairmen James Stair presented several Citation Bars, Service Bars, and Award Bars to attendees at the Banquet for their service.

Patti Burns who heads up the Kitchen for Bingo and other events that are held at the station made a speech. She made a wonderful speech to the people who helped her out in 2008. She presented them with Certificates.

The EMS Captain William Leight presented nice coats to members who helped him in 2008 with the Ambulance. Captain Leight also presented a slideshow to the attendees at the Banquet. This slideshow was of members who were called by FEMA to help assist in Cocodrie, Louisiana for Hurricane Gustav and in Galveston,Texas for Hurricane Ike in 2008.
